Free education for more than 2,000 Children

In most low-income countries, 80% of schools are private and children cannot afford to go to school. Together, we are creating a future where all children have a chance to learn and succeed.

1- ACCESS TO EDUCATION

Tuition fees are a strong barrier to education:

  • Zero tuition fees (for the 2,000 students in Port-au-Prince)

  • Uniforms (3 sets per child)

  • Schools supplies (notebooks, pencils, books ...)

  • Basic school infrastructure (blackboards, benches, tables, light bulbs...)

2- TEACHERS SUPPORT

A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and install love of learning:

  • Training for teachers

  • Learning material

3- REFURBISHING LIBRARIES

We are always looking for books to fill up the schools libraries:

  • Books in French

  • Books in English

  • Books in Spanish

Health and hygiene program

We are teaching children about water, health and hygiene to keep them healthy in school. Healthier kids stay in school longer, attend more regularly, learn more and become more productive adults.

443 million school days are lost each year because of water and sanitation-related diseases. Through our program we provide children with access to clean water, private bathrooms and good hygiene practise to promote the growth and development of the students. A safe learning environment and knowledge on hygiene are essential for keeping kids healthy, happy and in school.

  • Vitamine A

  • Deworming tablets

  • Annual check-ups

 FEEDING PROGRAM

Hunger steals the childhoods of millions of boys and girls. 34 million children suffer from severe malnutrition.
Unfortunately our feeding program at the Foyer Culturel Saint Vincent de Paul has been temporarily paused and hopefully, with the necessary funds to re-build the canteen, will be up an running again soon.

Food is the most basic human need. Without proper nutrition, children do no have the ability to act to improve their own lives and learn.
